Why apprenticeships are important in I.T
“Having already completed the first year of my course, I can see the benefits in haven taken on an Apprenticeship within the I.T sector. An apprenticeship gives beginners to the I.T world valuable exposure and experience in dealing with everyday problems that you face on the helpdesk. During the apprenticeship, you work towards passing examinations. Having these exams under my belt is not only great for my own personal experience but also enhances the companies reputation.
When I started my career in I.T, I naively assumed it was very much ‘have you tried turning it off and on again’. Low and behold that was not the case and had barely scratched the surface. Being part of an apprenticeship has given me a taste of the many paths there are in I.T, such as security, networking, cloud development and server management to name a few. This is great for those people at the beginning of their I.T journey, as it will allow them to explore the many opportunities there are, and being part of an MSP, the opportunities are endless.”
