GDPR – Understanding the implications

On 21st September SEDCOM are talking at a seminar for organisations, their brokers and insurers on the General Data Protection Regulation which comes into force on 25 May 2018.

Areas to be covered include:

  • Accountability: documentation, including policies and procedures, to be in place before May 2018
  • Role of data protection officer
  • Compulsory breach notifications and fines
  • Technical security
  • Securing Emails – to safeguard against impersonation attacks
  • DLP (Data Loss Prevention) – stop rogue employees sending data out of your network
  • Data Encryption – ensure that portable data is encrypted
